Luang Prabang
Luang Prabang is one of the most visited places in Laos, and that’s not without a reason! Luang Prabang is a small city with a lot to offer visitors. Luang Prabang is classified as a UNESCO World Heritage Site for its great historic and cultural value. Luang Prabang has a good atmosphere and is blessed with many beautiful and old temples, old houses, markets, and museums. The city is surrounded by natural beauty and some spectacular waterfalls.
Some of the most famous temples of the city are Wat Visounnarath, Wat Xieng Thong and Wat Manolom, but there are many more beautiful temples, less visited by tourists. The former Royal Palace (now a museum) is worth a visit and the views from Wat Phou Si are great.
One of the natural wonders outside of Luang Prabang is Tad Kuang Si Waterfall, a must see. The Pak Ou caves and Tad Sae waterfall are two other examples of very interesting places to visit when you are in Luang Prabang.
Luang Prabang attracts a lot of visitors but during the rainy season (May-October) it is possible to enjoy the city without the big crowds.
